Information Collection on SinclairInstitute.com

We automatically collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet. Collecting IP information provides security for our customers and employees. We also automatically collect certain aggregate information on pages viewed or areas visited, products purchased and other anonymous information. Analyzing aggregate information helps us create a better shopping experience. When you volunteer information, we may also collect and analyze that information. This may happen when you complete a survey or site registration form, buy a product, service or communicate with us by phone or email. Information you supply might include your name, email address, physical address, date of birth, telephone number and credit card information. We care about protecting the privacy of your credit card and personal information. If you supply us with credit card and personal nformation, our system encrypts that information during electronic transmission to your bank and only encrypted information is held in our database. Encryption is a technical process of scrambling information to make it unreadable except to authorized users such as banks and credit card companies.

Cookies

These aren't the kind of cookies you eat! Cookies are pieces of data that many companies such as Amazon ®, Eddie Bauer ®, Crate and Barrel ® and the Sinclair Institute may use to recognize customers when they return to a web site. One of the ways we use cookies is to retain the contents of your shopping cart. When you return to SinclairInstitute.com, your cart retains items you have stored. We do not connect cookies and information about individual users. Shopping at sinclairinstitute.com requires cookies be turned on, and, if you are reading this, your cookies are on. Check your browser for more information on cookies and security.

Why we request date of birth

Many customers ask why we request their date of birth. Sinclair Institute.com is a site that deals with adult topics and products. We ask for date of birth as one of the checks to ensure that we are selling to adults. We appreciate our customers' patience, help and support with this important task.

How information is stored.

This site uses a secure server (secure sockets layer - a protocol used to transmit private information via the internet). We use strong security measures to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of your information once it is in our records.

Is information shared with others? Email Addresses, Postal Mailing Addresses, Phone Numbers, Third Parties.

Email Addresses

Email addresses are not shared, sold, rented or traded with any external company for the purpose of online solicitation. The Sinclair Institute and our approved partners (SpringStreet Networks and ETP) may send special offers, notices about new products and tips and technique ideas to those customers who have opted in to our lists. We do not send unsolicited emails. If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter, look for the email subscription box at the bottom of most of our pages. Simply enter your email and click "sign up today" to become a subscriber and receive special benefits. We use what is commonly referred to as a double opt-in subscription process, so subscription isn't final until you've clicked on the link in the confirming email. If you would like to unsubscribe from SinclairInsitute.com's email list, please call customer service at 1-800-955-0888 or email cservice@sinclairinstitute.com. Names are removed from our email list within two weeks.

Postal Mailing Addresses

The Sinclair Institute mails several catalogs throughout the year. When a customer creates an account or orders online they have the option to request our catalog. If you would like to request our catalog click here. If you would like to remove your name from the Sinclair Institute's mailing list click here. You will be taken to the My Account area. Simply log in and click on the "change" button next to the Billing and Shipping Information area. Names are removed from our mailing list within two weeks.

We occasionally make our postal mailing list available to other companies that provide goods and services our customers find useful. If you prefer your name and address not be shared, please call customer service at 1-800-955-0888 or email cservice@sinclairinstitute.com

Phone Numbers

We only use phone numbers to communicate with our customers about their order and we only do that in an emergency. Please provide us with your correct phone number if you want to be contacted by phone if there is an issue with your order. If you do not want to be called, please do not list your phone number and understand that this may interfere with our ability to process or ship your order.

Third Parties

Anonymous or demographic information may be shared with third parties on an aggregate basis. This means we may share aggregate or group information with vendors we hire to help create a better online shopping experience.

We may also share both personal and anonymous information with companies or individuals we engage to help us perform the services offered through this web site. For example, we may need to share information with packaging or shipping agents, computer service providers and credit card payment processors. Such companies and individuals will only be permitted to use your personal information in the performance of their assigned jobs for the Sinclair Institute. In rare and special cases, we may disclose personal information when we believe it is necessary to prevent injury to the property or rights of the Sinclair Institute or any of our users or third parties, or when required by law or court order.

Blocked Email

Getting emails can be a challenge. Many Internet Service Providers have filters that may block communication with you even when you've requested it. The best way to insure receipt of special offers and content based emails from any company is to add their "from" address to your address book.

Our "from" email address is: sinclairspecial@intimacyinstitute.rsc01.com You way also wish to add our customer service "from" address to insure you receive messages related to your order. cservice@sinclairinstitute.com

AOL Customers

If you use AOL as your internet service provider you may receive our mail at first as junk mail or "spam". This is not unique to us, many companies experience this problem with AOL. You may want to add us to your address book to make it easier to see and read our emails and insure receipt. Do this by clicking on our email (check your inbox, if you don't see our email there, check your spam folder) and then click on the "read" button. AOL will prompt you with a pop up asking if you know where the mail is coming from. Remember, our emails come from sinclairspecial@intimacyinstitute.com. Once you've said yes you know where this email is coming from you will probably see a blank screen. Most of our emails are full of graphics and AOL requires you to click on the "Show images and enable links" button on the top right of the browser window. Click the Show images and enable links button and you should see our full email graphics and all.

If you would like to shorten this process, click on the "add address" button on the right panel when you have our email open. This will add our address to your address book so AOL will know you would like to hear from us without all this work.

Use the add address button on AOL to insure you receive our emails.

AOL Report As Spam Button

Please don't report our emails as "spam" to AOL. We never send unsolicitied emails, so our emails can't be spam. Many customers think using the "report as spam" button is a harmless way to unsubscribe. In fact, you harm other AOL customers. Reporting a message as spam makes it harder for other AOL customers to receive emails from that company . If you would like to unsubscribe from our list, please click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, click on the My Account link and change your account or call customer service 1-800-955-0888.
